Marilyn Bellert serves as Executive Assistant to the Vice-President for Administration and University Outreach.  Her assignments include staffing the university’s P-20 Task Force and various other working groups; writing grants, proposals, presentations, and reports; and supervising regional and state level P-20 projects such as the Illinois Honor Roll of high performing schools, applied research on reform of science and mathematics education, as well as partnerships with local schools.

Marilyn has been a strong advocate for emerging technologies such as online learning since joining NIU in Fall 2001.  Always an early adopter, she has worked with learning technologies - writing successful funding proposals and directing development of coursework (online, interactive distance video, and CD-based) at the K-12 and higher education levels for more than 20 years.

From 1983 to 2004, Marilyn served on elected and appointed education policy boards at local, state, and national levels, where she developed innovative policies for P-20 coordination and technology-enhanced learning.  She holds a master’s degree in English and lives in Sycamore.
